drifting
destiny drags me away
hurtling towards tomorrow,
my sight firmly
locked on yesterday

but yesterday,
mercifully
deserts me where I stand
and takes with him
all the baggage
that I clutched in my hand

so today, caught,
tantalizing,
every moment, takes me someplace new
every breath, every color
vivid in this world
dangerously desiring everything you do

still dreaming,
longing,
as desire often regretfully leads
to breathless, grasping
need to stay
within past delightful deeds

Martians can't laugh

A strange new smell in the air
Rover sniffs the sky
A bright new star, way up there
A summer night gone by

Grandpa wakes laughing hard
And grandma rolls him off
The wake up call presents it's card
They laugh until they cough

Children splashing in the mud
Laugh until they cry
Rolling round they try to stop
Brown with mud they try

School teachers pee their pants
They'd never laughed so much
Chalk board full of "cans" and "can'ts"
Their chalk they cannot touch

Water gups, splish and splash
Laughing bubbles to the top
A pink balloon in shaking hands
Laughs so hard it finally pops

late novemberorange sugar candy sunsets;
i wait until my sky
falls back into place,
just like before, and yet
sparkling just a little bit more.
honeysuckle breezes
kissing our faces
on a perfect autumn evening.
there was something magical then,
like crystallized dew drops,
or crunchy fire-colored leaves,
or the breathlessness
you leave on my lips
everytime you look at me...
it lingers in strands of wind-caressed hair
and dances around my shoulders
until everything falls back into place,
just like before, and yet
sparkling just a little bit more.

in spring and summer
come autumn
and winter

on a bench

the winds console her-
trying to catch her tears
but they drop a mark
on her brightly-colored kimono

dream at night

and the screech is baked

inevitable closure.

fall from the sky into
you; a pure electron stream
me; stage 3 rockets firing to break the pull/ mother~earth
the ions below are not aware of us,
nor are the stars, our distant kin, invisible

while this alone reinforces us; halfway between the
infinite and recessive as
time
stands
still

caught in the wake of our black hole kiss,
an accretion disk concerned only with the inevitable closure
an event horizon on the verge of

it's cosmic, this surface tension, like wet skin in the rain
if ever I had forgotten the sorrow, it was now, it was here as
we kissed in the starlight%

This is goddamn incredible. I especially liked the first stanza, and your line-breaks in it. You write about love in such a refreshing and wonderfully new way it blows my mind. And the references to cosmos, atoms.. again: I adore it. Amazing.

Just wondering though, what does the numbers in the titles mean?
