inevitable closure.

fall from the sky into
you; a pure electron stream
me; stage 3 rockets firing to break the pull/ mother~earth
the ions below are not aware of us,
nor are the stars, our distant kin, invisible

while this alone reinforces us; halfway between the
infinite and recessive as

caught in the wake of our black hole kiss,
an accretion disk concerned only with the inevitable closure
an event horizon on the verge of

it's cosmic, this surface tension, like wet skin in the rain
if ever I had forgotten the sorrow, it was now, it was here as
we kissed in the starlight%

This is goddamn incredible. I especially liked the first stanza, and your line-breaks in it. You write about love in such a refreshing and wonderfully new way it blows my mind. And the references to cosmos, atoms.. again: I adore it. Amazing.

Just wondering though, what does the numbers in the titles mean?

I don't usually go for "love" poetry, but this is truly wonderful. I love your style. :) (Smile) e -- The Verona Relapse

Cool. I like the cosmic romance you have spelt out for your reader. I like a lot about this poem, in fact. I even like the manner in which the couple gets to occupy all space and yet seem fairly well grounded. I wonder what a black hole kiss would be like?

wow... that is awesome :) (Smile)

I love the second stanza: - the way you've put the "time stands still" just gives such a strong sense of cosmic scale, and infinity.... it's amazing.

Tears of joy

Out of cheese error... please re-install universe and try again.

Congrats on the DP. You deserve it. Peace and well wishes to you and yours.

*Notices Jsenn's post* Wow! She said "to sleep perchance to dream"...thats a phrase that haunts me since the day I first heard it.

jsenn Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2002
Simply spectacular! I felt great sadness, and yet, no it's just me. Then your words took me away for an instant, took me totally away from this, from reality, from earth beneath my feet, broke the pull and allowed me to soar above and apart. "the inevitable closure..." How I yearn for this promise. I am going to bed now. This is the last poem I will read tonight. This one I want to sleep in...perchance to dream. Congratulations... :) (Smile)

Beautiful piece... staggering in the begining, choaking at the end. Wonderfully done. Reminds me of a lot of my favorite EBM artist's work.

Yes...wet skin is beautiful. Some forces we are unable to mitigate are we not? Even in the endings we are made whole.

As always beautiful...introspective yet "seeking". How you meld such things I will never know. Wonderful work, my friend.

mmm. Can see it all. Very beautiful. And the word beautiful has been down played by society but I use it to its true potential here.

e.e. cummings might *sound* cliche, but your style is reminiscent... few words, but vivid imagery...

i actually think of the song "summer romance" by incubus.... this poem gives the same feeling to me....

there's something very sensual about being in "the moment" with someone...feeling everything simultaneously...

*dreamy sigh*
